Genuine curiosity is the key to acquiring knowledge and wisdom. In a world where individuals seem more and more certain, and therefore uninterested in challenging their ideas, I take the opposite approach. I believe that education, whether in the classroom or in life, requires intellectual humility and a desire to expose the weaknesses in your ideas. I am working to change the standard school model from one that exchanges imagination for compliance, to one that uses imagination to innovate. School should not be a place where failure is avoided, but rather where it is embraced as a fast track to success.

When you are passionate about your cause, you can often lose sight of the importance of your actions and be solely focused on achieving the desired outcome. This must not be the case when bringing about tremendous changes like the ones we need to make in the United States. Irshad Manji, Ayishat Akanbi, Martin Luther King, Gandhi, etc. all promoted that the methods matter. Far too much right now is happening through shame, violence, destruction, and fear. A NEW system built on those ideas will embody those ideas. Our founding fathers, while not perfect, understood this and built the American system & the Constitution through compromise, conversation, and understanding.
